Comcast marketing president, Marvin Davis, agrees with the industry consensus that competition will continue to intensify between cable and telephone providers.
When asked how the communication market`s competitive landscape has changed in the past year, Davis commented that competition continues to intensify between his company and telecom carriers such as Verizon and AT&T.
The [telephone companies] are continuing with their aggressive price discounting and heavy media spending, both in terms of bundle and single-product activity, Davis said. We`re in an intense competitive environment. It just continues to get more intense.
Davis is thought to have a strong understanding of telecom competition, as he himself worked in the marketing department at Verizon before joining Comcast 16 months ago.
