Linksys Launches CIT310 Cordless Phone for Yahoo VoIP Users
12/11/2006
Cisco`s wireless networking division, Linksys, has teamed up with Yahoo Inc. to launch a new cordless telephone that allows users to make calls over either a standard landline, or high-speed internet connection. The dual-mode Linksys CIT310 digital telephone is specially optimized for Yahoo`s VoIP and instant messaging service, but can also switch to landline mode with the touch of a button. To make use of the CIT310`s internet telephony features, a user must subscribe to the Yahoo Phone Out service, which allows them to make calls, view their YIM contacts list, search for local businesses, and even look up the latest weather forecasts. This innovative new digital communication device is now available on Amazon.com, and is expected to be in stock at other online retailers by the end of this month, at a cost of roughly $100.
