Qwest Communications has announced plans to take advantage of recent FCC decision allowing telecom providers to combine their local and long distance telephone divisions.
Regulators ruled late on Tuesday that U.S. telephone incumbents would no longer be required to offer local and long distance services through separate entities, which could mean big savings for America’s regional telephone providers.
This will definitely mean less costs to Qwest, commented company spokesman, Nick Sweers, in an interview, without giving any specific details on the financial impact of the FCC decision.
