SureWest Selects Mirapoint’s Email and Email Security Solutions

SureWest Communications — the incumbent telephone provider serving Sacramento, California will deploy Mirapoint Inc.’s messaging systems in the delivery of hosted email and security services, the two companies announced on Monday.

Mirapoint’s technology is being integrated with SureWest’s IMAP, POP, and HTTP email solutions, and will be used to power content filtering, anti-spam, and email security features.

SureWest Communications is a validation of our offerings in the service provider market, said Barry Ariko, CEO, Mirapoint. With Mirapoint`s messaging appliances, SureWest has a centrally-managed messaging infrastructure that is secure, reliable, highly scalable and easy to manage. In addition, SureWest Communications is able to provide security, reliability and compliance, and address new requirements like group collaboration, mobile access, instant messaging and disaster recovery.

SureWest currently serves roughly 250,000 telephone and broadband internet customers in Sacramento-Roseville metropolitan area.
