AT&T Considering Cheaper iPhone Data Plan, BusinessWeek Reports

13/05/2009

Close on the heels of Bell Mobility’s Samsung Vice launch, another Canadian wireless operator is seeking to step up competition in the messaging-focused handset market.

The country’s biggest carrier, Rogers Wireless, has announced availability of the LG Xenon, whose sliding QWERTY keyboard and 2.8-inch touchscreen display make it a good fit for wireless email, messaging, and media.

The new phone, launched in the U.S. last month by AT&T, comes equipped with an HSPA-based 3G broadband chip, as well as plenty of pre-installed software, including a full web browser and a Facebook application for social networking on the go.

The LG Xenon is now available for $79.99 with a three-year Rogers Wireless contract, or $279.99 with no commitment.
