Telus Rumoured to be Launching Motorola Milestone on January 2610/01/2010
Rogers Wireless customers who purchased an HTC Dream smartphone will soon have the opportunity to exchange the device for an HTC Magic, allowing them to experience the benefits of Google’s Android 2.1 operating system. HTC Magic owners will receive a free Android 2.1 software upgrade by the middle of this year, but the same is not possible for Dream users due to hardware constraints. In response to customer complaints, Rogers has now agreed to offer a complementary Dream-to-Magic exchange for users that want one. “We share your frustration that the [Dream] does not have the required on-board memory for an upgrade,” Rogers said in a statement. “We’ve reviewed this internally and believe that Dream users should be able to have the same HTC Android experience as those who purchased the Magic. So, we are offering our HTC Dream customers a limited time opportunity to upgrade from their current HTC Dream device to the HTC Magic.” Rogers says it is “finalizing the details of the promotion” and will provide more information in a week. Not all users will want to take advantage of the offer, of course, given that the Magic lacks a physical QWERTY keyboard. Related News
