Telus Mobility to Carry Motorola Backflip in Canada01/03/2010
Globalive Communications announced today that it will bundle its WIND Mobile wireless services alongside the telephone and internet offerings of Yak Communications. The WIND and Yak brands are both owned by Globalive, which recently began offering flat-rate wireless packages in select Canadian markets. Yak was founded in 1998 and offers low-cost home phone, long distance, and high-speed internet services. “The combination of Yak and WIND Mobile allows us to offer the most competitive bundle offer in Canada,” commented Anthony Lacavera, the Chairman of Globalive. “Our customers will be able to talk, text, surf and connect all at great low rates, free of usage based billing, activation fees, throttling, and most importantly, contracts!” The most basic of the Yak/WIND plans includes a residential phone line, 100 minutes of long distance, a 5-Mbps broadband connection, and WIND’s $45/month ‘Always Shout’ wireless plan, for a combined price of just $98.90 per month. The company is offering a $150 account credit to new customers who port their cell phone number to WIND before the end of this month. Related News
