Canadian wireless giant, Bell Mobility, has joined retail partner, WirelessWave, in offering Palm’s Pre smarphone for free.
The Pre, which Palm had hoped would save its struggling smartphone business, was initially available for $199.95 on a three-year Bell contract. Initial sales were respectable, but quickly declined amid tough competition from smartphone industry giants such as Apple and Research In Motion.
Bell is now offering the Pre for $0.00 on a two-year voice and data contract.
