CRTC Launches ‘343′ Area Code in Eastern Ontario10/05/2010
Aspiring cell phone carrier, Mobilicity (also known as DAVE Wireless), has gained regulatory approval to begin offering wireless services in Canada. The CRTC has licensed Mobilicity to operate in areas covering more than half of the country’s population, including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa. “We have been given the approval to offer Canadians truly competitive wireless services,” commented Mobilicity Chairman, John Bitove. “It has taken four years to get to this stage and the impact of our upcoming launch will be felt across the country. We want to thank the CRTC for its insightful handling of our application and let consumers know that Mobilicity will be bringing simplicity and value to Canadian wireless customers very soon.” Mobilicity says it will begin offering its services in Toronto this spring and expand into other Canadian cities in the coming months. The company’s 3G wireless network is already up and running, having been tested successfully last December. Related News
