American wireless giant, AT&T, announced today that due to a high volume of pre-orders, the much-anticipated Apple iPhone 4 won’t be on the shelves of its retail stores until June 29.
For customers that did pre-order the new iPhone, the carrier is already beginning to distribute devices.
“AT&T retail representatives will begin calling customers this week to let them know their iPhone 4 is available for pick up in store,” the company announced.
Apple and AT&T were overwhelmed with pre-orders for the iPhone 4, receiving upwards of 600,000 requests on June 15, the first day that pre-order requests were accepted.
