Rogers Wireless Releases LG Loop GT540

21/08/2010

Just two months after releasing the HTC Legend, Bell Mobility is already discontinuing the device.

“Due to ongoing supply constraints from the manufacturer, the HTC Legend for Bell is effective immediately being discontinued,” according to an internal memo recently leaked onto the internet. “Bell employees are advised to redirect customers wishing to purchase the HTC Legend to their terrific line-up of Android smartphones.”

The “supply constraints” mentioned in the memo likely relate to the Legend’s 3.2-inch AMOLED display. HTC has already gone on record saying that it plans to use LCD screens for future devices, due to a shortage of the AMOLED units.

The HTC Legend is still available in Canada through Virgin Mobile, which recently raised the price by $20 to $99.99 on a three-year service agreement.
