Rogers Communications Profit Drops 24%

25/10/2010

American cell phone carrier, Sprint Nextel, has announced plans to offer Samsung’s forthcoming tablet product, the Galaxy Tab, for $399.99 on a two-year service agreement.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab will feature a 7-inch touchscreen display, dual cameras, video chat capability, and a Google Android 2.2 operating system with support for Adobe Flash 10.1.

Sprint intends to launch the device on November 14 and will charge $29.99/month for a mobile data plan with 2GB of bandwidth. 5GB of bandwidth will be available for a monthly cost of $59.99.

All four major U.S. wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint) are expected to offer the Galaxy Tab, which will compete head to head with Apple’s popular iPad device.
